About the Studio
We Build Worlds.
Players Make Them Real.
West Coast Games is an independent studio dedicated to creating sandbox experiences that empower players to explore, create, and tell their own stories.
Our Mission
Games that feel like worlds, not products.
We believe the most powerful games are the ones that give players a canvas — not a corridor. Our mission is to build sandbox experiences where the player's imagination is the only limit.
That means procedural worlds that surprise even us. Systems that interact in ways we didn't predict. Stories that emerge from player choices rather than cutscenes. Every game we make is a bet on the creativity of the people who play it.

What We Stand For
Our Values
Imagination First
Every decision starts with a question: does this spark something? If it doesn't inspire curiosity or creativity, it doesn't belong in our games.
Player Agency
We design for emergence. The best moments in our games are the ones we didn't script — they happen because players had real freedom to act.
Craft Over Speed
We'd rather ship one great thing than ten mediocre ones. Every system, sound, and line of dialogue is built with intention.
Worlds Worth Exploring
A game world should feel alive — like it existed before you arrived and will continue after you leave. That's the standard we hold ourselves to.
The Journey
How We Got Here
The Journey Begins
After discovering a passion for video games and technology, our founder begins learning to code and creates his first game at just six years old. What starts as curiosity quickly grows into a vision of building worlds that players can explore and shape themselves.
Ideas Take Root
Development begins on the first version of Roller Coaster Builder. Combining creativity, engineering, and physics-based gameplay, the project lays the foundation for many of the ideas that would later define the studio.
Roller Coaster Builder 2
A completely reimagined version of Roller Coaster Builder is released featuring a real-world physics engine. Players can design, test, and ride their own creations while realistic forces, momentum, gravity, and speed bring every coaster to life.
West Coast Games Is Founded
West Coast Games is officially established with a mission to create imaginative sandbox experiences driven by creativity, exploration, physics, and player freedom. Development expands beyond a single game toward a growing universe of original titles.
Recognition for Innovation
Our founder is honored as one of San Diego's Top 40 Under 40 Future Business Leaders, recognizing entrepreneurial achievement, innovation, and leadership at an early age.
New Worlds Take Shape
Development begins on new projects including Marble Racing and Pixler. The studio's vision of interconnected sandbox experiences continues to expand.
Building the Future
The West Coast Games community begins to grow, and development accelerates across multiple projects. With new games, new ideas, and new technologies in development, the journey is only beginning.
Just Getting Started
Every project at West Coast Games is built around a simple belief: the best games empower players to create, explore, experiment, and tell their own stories. The next chapter is already underway.
The Person Behind It
Meet the Founder
The Founder
Founder & Creative Director
"The best game is the one that makes you forget you're playing a game."
West Coast Games was founded by a developer, storyteller, musician, and lifelong gamer who grew up believing that the best games are the ones that never end — not because they're endless, but because they give you a reason to keep coming back.
The studio's creative direction is shaped by a single conviction: games should feel like worlds, not products. Every system, every mechanic, every sound is built to serve that vision. No feature ships unless it makes the world feel more alive.
Before founding West Coast Games, the studio's founder spent years as a software developer by day and a game modder by night — building custom worlds, writing procedural terrain generators, and composing original music for fan projects. The studio is the natural culmination of all of it.

Design Philosophy
"We don't make games for players to complete. We make worlds for players to inhabit."
That philosophy shapes everything — from how we design progression systems to how we write lore. There's no end screen. There's no "you win." There's only the next horizon.
